A Fearsome history...

...With it's horrific beginning...

This band originally started in 1999, between two of New Brunswick's cities, Campbellton and Bathurst, when guitarists Nicholas Plourde and Patrick Boudreau, both 14 year-old cousins, decided to join forces and play the music they like. Of course, that music is Heavy Metal!. They both listened to the same bands like Metallica, Megadeth and Pantera and both played in the same style. When the decision was made, they got to work, composing and not covering bands right away. Patrick was guitarist and drummer at the same time. Since they were only 2 in the group, someone had to compose the drum beats in order to make it sound right. So that's what they did, composing the first pre-Fearsome song called Metal Scar. With one song completed, the band was still nameless. They searched for a name for about a week, when Patrick came up with one, which there is no telling where it came from; Metal University.

...And the arrival of the one and only "Bash"...

Realizing the impossibility of playing good heavy metal with only 2 members, they agreed on starting a search for a drummer and a bassist. Patrick would then settle with playing guitar. After a month of search, Nick met a drummer of his age at school; Serge Michaud. About two weeks later, Nicholas went to jam with Serge to audition him, test him to see if he was the guy for them. And obviously the audition went great and a couple of days later Nick contacted Patrick by phone, cause they both lived an hour away, and talked about Serge, what he was able to do, his cool way of playing, still kinda stiff at the time but good, and the things that he might have to work on to become a heavy drummer. The next day, Nick and Serge talked and it had been made official; Metal University 's Serge "Bash" Michaud was the man.

...Then to follow the Path of the Gods...

After a couple of jam sessions between Nick and Bash, Pat came up to jam with them. For the first time, the three of them were together, and in four days, for the first time they were going to play live. It was the ultimate test for Serge, there were only two ways; success or failure. Obviously again, but together, they succeeded. They composed an intro for the show that was coming up and also composed an instrumental song, their signature for the show, The Land Of Kalistal. With those two originals, they covered Metallica 's "Seek & Destroy", "Master of Puppets" and Pantera's "A New Level". The crowd's feedback wasn't that positive after the show. Fearsome played old stuff while the whole crowd was into new stuff like Deftones and Slipknot. They didn't succeed in that contest, but they had more than enough guts to show up and show them what they are made of. Seven months later, Metal University decided to change their name into Fearsome after recording their first demo CD entitled Land Of Kalistal.

...And may the Fearsome Legacy continue for all eternity.

Fearsome is the name that is stabbed in the band members hearts. They are still moving on, with one intention...bring back that rightful heavy metal to the whole world.
